Despite initial fears of a recession in the current quarter, analysts have managed to delay them until the second or third quarter. However, the stock market indices on Wall Street have shown impressive gains since the beginning of the year. The Nasdaq has surged by 12.5%, the S&P 500 has jumped by 5.8%, and the Dow Jones has risen by only 0.8%.
The stock market remains fragile, even though inflation is decreasing as anticipated. It appears that the Federal Reserve needs to take further measures to calm the market, as the labor market is not cooling down as quickly as bank executives had hoped. The central bank seeks to cool the labor market to suppress inflation, despite being aware of the negative impact it will have on the markets and investors.
